The handover and opening ceremonies of Inn Win Basic Education Primary School and Ywa Oo Basic Education Branch High School in Hinthada Township, Ayeyarwady Region were held on 9th November 2016.
The ceremonies were attended by Mr. Yoshimasa KASAI, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, U Khin Maung Yee, Pyithu Hluttaw Elective Representative for Hinthada Constituency, U Htain Win, Amyothar Hluttaw Elective Representative for Hinthada Constituency, U Kyaw Soe, Ayeyarwady Region Hluttaw Elective Representative for Hinthada Constituency, Ayeyarwaddy Region, U Htay Oo, Member of Central Leading Committee, Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), U Ambro, Deputy Director, Divisional Education officer, Department of Education, U Aung Hone Than, Township Administrator, Committee Chairpersons, committee members of the construction projects, and local residents.
At the ceremony of Inn Win Basic Education Primary School, U Khin Maung Yee stated, “Education Sector is very important for every country. The Myanmar government has been trying to improve that Sector. In order to improve that, all of us need to try hard. We really appreciate the great support given by the Japanese Government and its people”.
Following the speech, Mr. KASAI stated, “As the demand on education sector is very high here in Myanmar, the Japanese Government will be continuously providing supports to meet that needs”.
The Government of Japan provided US$316,302 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme for the above two projects. The Government of Japan, under its GGP Scheme, is planning to continue various assistances in the future, and anticipates that it will further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
