The handover ceremonies of Si Tar Pu Kindergarten, Kyar Yar Patty Village Community Bridge, Shan Village Post Primary Education School, No.1 Basic Education High School and the Examination Building for Radiological Department in Myitkyina General Hospital took place in Myitkyina Township, Kachin State on January 30th 2015.

These ceremonies were attended by H.E. Mr. Tateshi HIGUCHI, Ambassador of Japan to Myanmar, Mr. Katsuyuki MATSUOKA, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, Daw Bauk Ja, Social Minister of Kachin State, U Ah Lay Par, Kachin State Minister for Development Affairs, teachers and students, committee chairmen and committee members of the construction projects and local residents.

At the ceremony of No.1 Basic Education High School in Myitkyina Township, Daw Bauk Ja stated that the schoolchildren and the teachers have a responsibility to maintain the school building for long-term sustainability as the Government of Japan and its people have supported the school. She concluded her speech by expressing her deepest gratitude to the Japanese Government and its people.

Following that speech, Ambassador HIGUCHI encouraged that the students enjoy learning and taking part in school events. He concluded that the Government of Japan and its people strongly hope the students would learn and play energetically as Myanmar develops.

The Government of Japan provided USD$819,465 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme for the construction of Si Tar Pu Kindergarten, Kyar Yar Patty Village Community Bridge, Shan Village Post Primary Education School, No.1 Basic Education High School and Examination Building for Radiological Department in Myitkyina General Hospital in Myitkyina Township, Kachin State. The Government of Japan, under its GGP Scheme, is planning to continue various assistances in the future, and anticipates that the assistance will further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
