
The handover and opening ceremonies at Ta Kaung Net Village Sub Rural Health Center in Mindon Township, Lay Ein Su Village Sub Rural Health Center and Kan Pauk Village Sub Rural Health Center in Ngaphe Township, Yae Thoung Village Sub Rural Health Center in Sidoktaya Towsnhip, Yaw Let Pan Village Sub Rural Health Center in Saw Township in Magway Region were held on 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th April 2016 respectively.
The ceremonies were attended by Mr. Hideaki HIGASHI, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, U Tun Lin Aung, Mindon Township Medical officer, U Kyaw San Yu, Mindon Township Administrator, U Zaw Aung, Ngaphe Township Medical officer, Daw Ohn Thein, Sidoktaya Township Health Nurse, U Thein Tun, Yaw Let Pan Village Administrator, Committee Chairpersons, committee members of the construction projects, and local residents.
At the ceremony of Lay Ein Su Village Sub Rural Health Center, U Zaw Aung stated “I’d like to thank the Japanese Government and its people for the construction of the health center and staff quarter. The local residents now have comfortable and convenient access to health care services”.
Following the speech, Mr. Higashi mentioned, “we appreciate the efforts of the committee, the construction company and the people concerned for the implementation of the project. We hope that the new health facilities and medical equipment will help improve the health situation in this area”. To conclude, he wished for the further development of friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
The Government of Japan provided US$354,958 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme for the 5 projects. The Government of Japan, under its GGP Scheme, is planning to continue various assistances in the future, and anticipates that it will further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
