Calling for participants
Dance and theatre play workshop by Hiroshi Koike
Mr. Hiroshi Koike, Japanese well-known stage director, choreographer and writer will hold dance and theatre play workshop in Yangon and Mandalay. He will come to Myanmar for presenting dance and theatre play “The Restaurant of Many Orders” on 23rd June at National Theatre in Yangon, and on the occasion of coming to Myanmar, he will conduct workshop in both Yangon and Mandalay.
The main theme of this workshop is “recognizing own body.” It will start from slow movement workshop in order to find and recognize how your own body will move and awake your sleeping sensibilities. After the first part, workshop will continue in accordance with the characteristics of participants.

1. Date and venue
(1) Yangon
20th to 22nd June, 2016 (2 days and half) at National Theatre in Yangon
(2) Mandalay
25th to 26th June, 2016 (2days) at National University of Arts and Culture in Mandalay
※Transportation bus will be arranged from Mandalay city to university

3. About Hiroshi Koike
Born and raised in Hitachi, Ibaraki prefecture, Japan. After working as a TV director, he started a performing arts company, “Pappa TARAHUMARA”, in 1982. He has directed 55 pieces and worked with many artists in many countries and established high reputation throughout the world.He held many important posts in various committees such as Artistic Director of Tsukuba Cultural Foundation (1997~2005), member of the Culture Promotion Committee of Aomori (1999), Chair of the Asian Performing Artists’ Forum in Okinawa, Vice Chair of Asian Arts Net (2000~2005), Specified Donation appointed member of Japan Foundation (2004~2011).

4. Eligibilities
(1) We will create one play with all participants through workshop, so we request all participants to attend to all day (2 days and half in Yangon, and 2 days in Mandalay)
(2) Any background of dance, acting or stage performance is not necessary. However, if the numbers of participants become over the limitation, we will select the persons who has the performance skills on a priority basis.
