Handover and Opening Ceremony for a school in Einme Township

The handover and opening ceremony of a school in Einme Township was held on 3rd February 2016.

The ceremony was attended by Mr. Satoshi NISHIZAWA, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, U Mya Than, Regional Hluttaw Representative, U Aung Kyaw Htoo, Deputy Director of Ayeyarwady Region Education Department, Committee Chairman, committee members of the construction project, and local residents.

At the ceremony, U Aung Kyaw Htoo stated, “While the Japanese Government and its people are supporting construction of school buildings, our people need to be united to reach our vision of “Education for All”. We thank Japan for the support and wish them health, wealth and prosperity.”

Following that speech, Mr. NISHIZAWA expressed, “I am delighted for the successful completion of the project. I believe that all students who study in this new school building will grow to support the national development of Myanmar in the future.”

The Government of Japan provided US$103,084 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grass-roots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme for “The Project for Construction of War Ta Loke Kani Village Basic Education High School in Einme Township, Ayeyarwady Region”. The Government of Japan, under its GGP Scheme, is planning to continue various assistances in the future, and anticipates that it will further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
