A passenger ship donated by Japan arrived in Rakhine(Kispanadi 2)
On July 25, 2017, a passenger ship "KISPANADI 2" donated by the Government of Japan arrived at Kyauk Phyu Port. The ship has departed from Kobe port Japan on 10 July, and arrived safely after 16 days’ journey, and is scheduled to ply between Sittway and Myebon ports of Rakhine State.
The Government of Japan donated a total of three passenger ships (two second-hand ships and one newly-built ship) to Rakhine State under Japan Grant Aid for Economic and Social Development Programme, aiming to facilitate the transportation and ensure safety for Rakhine people. This time, the second ship was delivered to Rakhine State and arrangements are underway to donate the remaining ship soon. The total costs of three ships are expected to amount to approximate 1.5billion Yen. The Government of Japan will continue to provide assistance for Myanmar in various fields so as to bring about its peace and economic development.
