
The handover and opening ceremony of Rural Health Center (RHC) in Kaykaw Village, Pruso Township was held on 12th December 2016.
The ceremony was attended by Mr. Keita IWASE, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Japan, U L Phaung Sho, Kayah State Chief Minister, Committee Chairperson, committee members of the construction project and local residents.
At the ceremony, U L Phaung Sho stated, “This RHC has been provided by the Japanese Government and its people. I encourage the health department to utilize this building for the benefits of the local people and maintain the building well. I believe that this RHC will be a crucial facility to support our healthy life.”
Following the speech, Mr. IWASE stated, “Being healthy both mentally and physically makes our lives better. That is why, please use this RHC building in an effective way. The Japanese Government and its people deeply hope that this RHC building will contribute to improving the health care services for Kaykaw villagers.”
The Government of Japan provided US$193,453 under the Japanese Government’s Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP) Scheme for the above project. The Government of Japan, under its GGP Scheme, is planning to continue various assistances in the future, and anticipates that it will further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
