JAPAN'S GRASSROOTS GRANT ASSISTANCE

FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HPA-AN TOWNSHIP HPA-KAT VILLAGE

HIGH SCHOOL IN KAYIN STATE

The Government of Japan under the Grassroots Grant Assistance Scheme, will provide a grant aid of US$ 90,824 to “Hpa-kat High School Construction Committee” for the construction of the High school in Hpa-kat Village, Kayin State.


In favor of the schoolchildren of Hpa-an Township Hpa-kat High School, the construction of a two-storied schoolhouse (comprised of thirteen classrooms and one office), a 6-unit toilet with septic tank, wooden trestle, water supply and necessary school furniture will be funded. It is expected that the improvement of the facility would contribute to the betterment of the learning environment of the students attending the school.


The Grant Contract to this effect is signed on 19 January 2005 at the Embassy of Japan in Yangon, between Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in the Union of Myanmar, and U Win Ngwe - Chairman of “Hpa-kat High School Construction Committee”.
