JAPAN'S GRASSROOTS GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF SINPHYUKYUN VILLAGE PRIMARY SCHOOL IN THATON TOWNSHIP IN MON STATE

The Government of Japan, under the Grassroots Grant Assistance Scheme, will provide a grant aid of US$ 43,469 to “Sinphyukyun Village Primary School Construction Committee” for the construction of a new school building at Sinphyukyun Village Primary School in Thaton Township, Mon State. In favor of the students attending that school, the construction of a single-storied schoolhouse comprised of five classrooms and an office will be funded. The assistance will also cover associated items such as fence and walkway, water and sanitation facilities and necessary school furniture. It is expected the improvement of the facility would contribute to the better learning environment of the schoolchildren there. The Grant Contract to this effect is signed on 20 January 2005 at the Embassy of Japan in Yangon, between Mr. Hiroshi Kawamura, Minister/Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in the Union of Myanmar, and U Saw Thar Lu - Chairman of “Sinphyukyun Village Primary School Construction Committee”. |
