Donation of Sixty Five books by the Japan Foundation

Under the Library Support Program 2005 the Japan Foundation donated altogether the sixty five books on Japan worth ¥ 578,191 (approximately $ 4,950) to History Department, Bago Degree College and International Relation Department, Yangon Eastern University in this month.

The Embassy of Japan officially handed over thirty four books worth ¥ 275,559 (approximately $ 2,350) to the Bago Degree College on 12 July and another thirty one books worth ¥ 302,632 (approximately $ 2,600) to the Yangon Eastern University on 27 July.

This program is designed to promote both understanding of and research on Japanese affairs through donations of books. It is expected that the researchers, scholars and students in Myanmar can continue their studies on Japan , and that it will contribute to further promote the relationship and friendship between Japan and Myanmar .

The Japan Foundation has been donating the reference books on Japan to some libraries in respective universities throughout Myanmar .
