The Government of Japan decided on 24 May 2008 , to dispatch a disaster relief preparatory medical team to the Union of Myanmar through the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), comprised of four experts to prepare in the medical treatment of the persons affected by the Cylone Nargis. Two experts arrived on 25 May and another two experts arrived on 26 May.
The Government of Japan has decided to dispatch the team from a humanitarian point of view and in light of the friendly relations between the two countries.
