T he Government of Japan has decided to contribute Emergency Assistance for the Cyclone Disaster in the Union of Myanmar totaling to six million and nine hundred eighty nine thousand and three hundred five US dollars (US$ 6,989,305) through the United Nations Agencies in the Union of Myanmar, which consists of the following.
Two million and five hundred thirty three thousand and four hundred ninety US dollars (US$ 2,533,490) to World Food Program (WFP) for immediate relief assistance for the cyclone affected people in Myanmar.
Two million and seven hundred twenty eight thousand and five hundred US dollars (US$ 2,728,500) to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) for the Emergency Appeal to provide assistance for “Myanmar immediate needs for children and women affected by cyclone NARGIS”.
One million and seven hundred twenty seven thousand and three hundred fifteen US dollars (US$ 1,727,315) to the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for Provision of Emergency Shelter and Non-Food Items to the Cyclone-affected people in Myanmar by UNHCR.
