The Japanese survey team completed the work in all planned areas at Yangon Port by the end of September in cooperation with MPA.

At the meeting, the JICA study team reported to MPA the number of the sunken ships, their exact location and situation based on the results of their survey and the JICA study team will hand over to MPA the bathymetric maps covering Yangon Port and underwater obstruction map (approximately 25 k ? , scale of 1:5,000), for each site with map of impediments location such as sunken ships (scale of 1:1,000) by the end of this month. These maps would be use in MPA's further action.

The Government of Japan has so far decided to provide 33 million US Dollars to help the cyclone-inflicted people in Myanmar, of which 19 million US Dollars was already provided.
