The Japanese Embassy, Yangon is now ready to accept entries for the 4 th Japanese Literature Translation Contest 2009. This contest was established in 2006 by the Embassy of Japan in cooperation with the Myanmar Association for Japan Alumni (MAJA), and has been supported by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yangon (JCCY). The intention of the contest is to measure participants' ability to translate Japanese into Myanmar . The contest will be held for three categories, as similar to the contest held last year.

Submission of Application 9:00 – 12:30 and 13:00 – 17:00 ( Weekdays only )
Eligible Contestant : only Myanmar Nationals
Date of Contest : February 28, 2009, Saturday
Time of Contest : 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Venue of Contest : Yangon – Assembly Hall, The Embassy of Japan
Mandalay – HITO Centre, Mandalay YMCA
Subject for Translation : to be announced on the day of the contest
Application forms are to be submitted to the Information & Culture Section of the Embassy of Japan at 100, Natmauk Road , Bahan Township in Yangon and to HITO Centre, Corner of 80 th & 12 th Street , in Mandalay .
Those people interested are cordially requested to submit their application forms in time as the number of participants might be limited.
