This year (2009) is the Mekong-Japan Exchange Year to further expand exchanges between Japan and the Mekong region countries.A variety of events are scheduled to be held in Japan and Mekong countries. This concert is one of the events to introduce the beauty of both Myanmar and Japanese music.

The choir group of GitameitMusicCenter visited Japan last month to attend the Mekong-Japan Exchange Year 2009 Opening Reception in Tokyo, together with young musicians from other Mekong countries.On March 14, they will perform some Myanmar music they played in Japan as well as some Japanese music which they practiced for this special concert.
