THE JAPANESE GOVERNMENT’S GRASSROOTS GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR
“The Project for CONSTRUCTION OF OPERATION
ROOM AND PROVISION OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR PIN LE BU TOWNSHIP HOSPITAL
IN SAGAING DIVISION”

The Government of Japan, under its Grassroots Grant Assistance (GGA) Scheme, decided to extend assistance of US$ 96,825 for a humanitarian assistance program entitled “The Project for Construction of Operation Room and Provision of Medical
Equipment for Pin Le Bu Township Hospital in Sagaing Division”.
Mr. Kazuyuki Takeuchi, Minister / Deputy Chief
of Mission of
the Embassy of Japan in the Union of Myanmar, and U Tin Nyo, Chairperson of Pin
Le Bu Township Health Committee, signed the grant contract of this project on 18 December 2009.
Pin Le Bu Township is situated about 240 miles
away from Mandalay
city. Since
the building has aged and the facility is not enough to offer appropriate
medical services to the people in Pin Le Bu Township, the Government of Japan
will fund through its GGA Programme the construction of an operation room for
Pin Le Bu Township Hospital equipped with medical and sanitation facilities.
This assistance is expected to benefit people
of Pin Le Bu Township by promoting their health, and further strengthen
existing friendly relations between Japan
and Myanmar.
