Start of Entries for the 5th Japanese Literature Translation Contest, 2010

 

            The Japanese Embassy, Yangon is now ready to accept entries for the 5th  Japanese Literature Translation Contest 2010. This contest was established in 2006 by the Embassy of Japan in cooperation with the Myanmar Association for Japan Alumni (MAJA), and has been supported by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yangon (JCCY). The intention of the contest is to measure participants’ ability to translate Japanese into Myanmar. The contest will be held for three levels, as similar to the contest held last year.

Date and Time for                   :  January 18 to  February 5,  2010

          submission of Application           9:00 – 12:30 and 13:00 – 17:15

                                                                   ( Weekdays only )

          Eligible Contestant              :  Myanmar Nationals only

 

          Date of Contest                  :  February 21, 2010, Sunday

 

          Time of Contest                  : 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

 

          Venue of Contest                : Yangon – Myanmar Info-tech

                                                             Universities’ Hlaing Campus, Hlaing Township

                                     

                                                      Mandalay – HITO Centre

                                                                Mandalay YMCA

 

          Subject for Translation  : to be announced on the day of the contest

 

          Application forms are to be submitted  to the Information & Culture Section of the Embassy of Japan at 100, Natmauk Road, Bahan Township in Yangon or to HITO Centre, Corner of 80th & 12th Street, in Mandalay.

            Those who are interested  are cordially requested to submit their application forms in time as there are only limited places available.
