The Government of Japan, under its Grassroots Grant Assistance (GGA) Scheme, decided to extend assistance of US$ 48,536for a humanitarian assistance program entitled “The Project for Construction of Par San Sub Rural Health Center in ShanState”.
Mr. Kazuyuki Takeuchi, Minister / Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Japan in the Union of Myanmar, and U Nay Win Aung, Secretary of Par San Health Committee, signed the grant contract of this project on 27 January 2010.
Par San village is situated about 56 miles away from the ShanState’s capital(Sounth), Keng Tung.Since a rural health center is very important for the villagers’ health, the Government of Japan will fund through its GGA Programme the construction of a sub rural health center equipped with water and sanitation facilities.
This assistance is expected to benefit villagers of Par San by promoting their health, and further strengthen existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
