The Government of Japan decided to contribute, in its Fiscal Year 2010, 5,235,032,000 Japanese Yen (approximately 55.7 million US dollars) to United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) for the operation for assisting refugees and internally displaced persons.
Out of the above contribution, the Government of Japan earmarks 80,000,000 Japanese Yen (approximately 0.85 million US dollars) for UNHCR’s 2010 activities in Myanmar.
The contribution earmarked for Myanmar is expected to be used for supporting the population of NorthernRakhineState and populations affected by displacement in the Southeast of Myanmar.
