Twenty four young Myanmar ICT engineers nominated by the Myanmar Computer Federation (MCF) will visit Japan from 13 to 21July 2010 under a short-term invitation programme of the Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths (JENESYS) programme.
The purpose of the visit is to strengthen the relationship between Japan and Myanmar ICT engineers and deepen the mutual understanding of the two countries.The participants will visit ICT related universities, companies and facilities in Japan, and also experience staying with Japanese host families.The sending-off ceremony for the young Myanmar ICT engineers was held on 12 July 2010 at the Chatrium Hotel.
The JENESYS programme was launched at the Second East Asia Summit in 2007, with the aim of establishing a strong basis for the solidarity of Asian countries.Under the exchange programme, the Government of Japan plans to invite thousands of youths from Asian countries to Japan during the period 2008 to 2014.
It is expected that the visit of the young Myanmar ICT engineers to Japan under the JENESYS programme will contribute to the development of Myanmar and promote existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar.
