The Prize awarding Ceremony for the 6 th Japanese Literature Translation Contest will be held along with the 12 th Japanese Language Speech Contest at Park Royal Hotel in Yangon at 9:00 a.m. on June 25, 2011(Saturday).
The translation contest which took place on March 20, 2011 simultaneously in Yangon and Mandalay was organized by the Embassy of Japan with the cooperation of Myanmar Association of Japan Alumni (MAJA) and supported by the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Yangon (JCCY).
For three levels set for the contest, namely basic, intermediate and advanced, 138 contestants from Yangon and 91 contestants from Mandalay took part. The Prize winners for each level were announced on June 6, 2011.
The 12 th Japanese Language Speech Contest will be co-hosted by the Embassy of Japan and MAJA and supported by JCCY. Initial screening through the written essay and recorded speech submitted by the contestants has been done and the best 15 are selected to participate in the contest.
