1. Aiming to contribute to Myanmar’s significant results in the SEA games 2013 which will be held in Myanmar, Japan has decided to invite Myanmar’s female national judo team to Japan for a special training with Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group (MSIG) Women Judo Team for 1 month by support from MSIG.
2. MSIG’s own judo team players have won 3 Olympic gold medals, 1 silver medal and 2 bronze medals and won so many medals in the world judo championship so far. 4 Myanmar female judo athletes and 1 manager are invited to MSIG’s judo practice facility located in Tokyo, Japan from 7 January 2013 to 7 February 2013.
3. This program is one of the follow up programs for the Japanese Cultural and Sports Exchange Mission dispatched to Myanmar in June 2012.
4. In this regard, H.E. Mr. Numata, the Japanese Ambassador to Myanmar will host the farewell reception for those Judoists to be trained in Japan at his residence in Yangon on 26 December 2012. Deputy Union Minister for Sports, H.E U Thaung Htaik, the president of Myanmar Judo Federation, U Tun Tun and other high ranking officials of Ministry of Sports will attend the reception.
