THE HAND-OVER AND OPENING CEREMONY OF YE WUN MONASTIC PRIMARY SCHOOL IN WUN DWIN TOWNSHIP, FALAMKON MONASTIC MIDDLE SCHOOL IN NWAHTOGYI TOWNSHIP, MANDALAY REGION AND TILAWKAYAMA MONASTIC PRIMARY SCHOOL IN PAKOKKU TOWNSHIP, MAGWAY REGION CONSTRUCTED BY THE SCHEME OF JAPANESE GOVERNMENT’S GRANT ASSISTANCE FOR GRASSROOTS HUMAN SECURITY PROJECTS

The Government of Japan, under its Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects(GGP)Scheme,has granted US$91,284for construction of Ye Wun Monastic Primary School in WunDwin Township, US$84,252 for construction of Falamkon Monastic Middle School in Nwahtogyi Township and US$76,900 for construction of Tilawkayama Monastic Primary School in Pakokku Township on March 22, 23 and 24 at each project site respectively.

Those ceremonies have been attended by Ms. Sumie ARIMA, the Second Secretary of the Japanese Embassy, school building construction committee members headed by Chief Monk Sayadaws, students of the schools and local people in three townships.

Each school has insufficient classrooms for the students and currently used buildings are religious buildings which are also getting aged. Moreover the schools do not have proper hygienic toilets and sufficient school furniture to provide good learning environment for the students.

Undersuch circumstances, the Government of Japan has decided to provide funding for construction ofR.C. school building, toilets and school furniture through its GGPScheme.

It is expected that theseassistance willprovide the students of three schoolswith better learning and sanitation environment. Moreover, these assistance are believed to further strengthen existing friendly relations betweenJapan and Myanmar.
