
Japanese TV drama series Carnation to be aired by MNTV starting March 3, 2014 in commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations
between Myanmar and Japan
Myanmar and Japan mark the 60th anniversary of their establishment of diplomatic relations in 2014. From March 2014, Japanese TV drama series Carnation will be aired by MNTV with the cooperation of the Embassy of Japan in Myanmar and the Japan Foundation. The program is the Japanese public broadcaster NHK’s television drama series Carnation, and the Japan Foundation is covering the broadcast rights fee, broadcast material production cost, etc. to make this broadcast possible.

◆ NHK’s television drama series Carnation
Carnation is an NHK television drama series broadcast in Japan in 2011. Based on the life of Ayako Koshino, whose three daughters are internationally renowned fashion designers, Carnation is a story of women’s independence, fashion, and growth as a family. This program was chosen to be aired in Myanmar, a country currently making progress towards democracy with expectant economic development, and the story relates to the dreams and hopes of its people.
