Japan Grants US$4.4 million for The “Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship”

1. On Tuesday, 23 June, H.E. Mr. Tateshi Higuchi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and H.E. Daw Lei Lei Thein, Deputy Minister for National Planning and Economic Development of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, exchanged notes concerning grant aid for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship, worth 487 million Japanese Yen (approximately 4 million USD) in Nay Pyi Taw.
2. This scholarship provides an opportunity for young Myanmar Government officials to study in Japan to learn necessary skills and knowledge for problem solving and policy making with a view to promoting Myanmar’s reform and social and economic development as well as to establishing a friendly relationship between Japan and Myanmar.
