H.E. Mr. Tateshi HIGUCHI, Ambassador of Japan to the Republic of Union of Myanmar and H.E. U Maung Maung Win, Deputy Minister for Planning and Finance of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, signed the documents for the Economic and Social Development Programme, worth 500 million Japanese Yen (USD approx. 5 million), in Nay Pyi Taw on 12 September, 2016.

This programme aims to improve the ability of the water transport in Myanmar and to contribute to the Economic and Social Development of Myanmar, by donating passenger ships for the coastal transport in Rakhine State.
