Residents of Ye Ngan Village, Natmauk Township, Magway Region have had limited access to public services since there is no bridge to cross the Inn River, which connects to the Nat Mauk Town where schools, hospitals and markets are located. The residents instead have to walk 3 miles on the riverbed in the dry season, which is distressing for them. In order to tackle this challenge, the Japanese Government will support construction of a 43 – meter - long R.C.C Bridge. The project will benefit 7,000 residents in Ye Ngan Village including 7 surrounding villages.

One school building and lavatories in Nam Kaing Village Basic Education Branch Middle School were partially collapsed by the flood caused in 2015. Due to the insufficient number of classrooms, some students have to keep studying in the existing dangerous building. For the solution of this problem, the Japanese Government will support construction of a two-storey R.C.C building with 8 classrooms, full furniture and lavatories. The project will benefit 143 students of the school.

The existing 2 school buildings in Put Thar Village Basic Education Branch Middle School, were deteriorated due to the flood occurred in 2015. Alhough the new school building was constructed, many of the students still have to study in congested classrooms due to the insufficient number of classrooms. In order to overcome this situation, the Japanese Government will support construction of one storey R.C.C building with 4 classrooms with full furniture. The project will benefit 130 students of the school.

Nga Myin Chaung Branch Middle School was established in 1972. Due to the insufficient number of classrooms in the school, more than 100 students have to study in one classroom in the temporary school building. In order to tackle this challenge, the Japanese Government will support construction of a two-storey Reinforced Concrete Construction (R.C.C) building with 8 classrooms with full furniture. The project will benefit 705 students of the school.

The Government of Japan has assisted 778 various grass-roots projects in Myanmar under the GGP scheme since 1993: the number consisting of 370 education projects, 196 healthcare projects, 138 public welfare and environment projects, 39 infrastructure projects and 35 other projects. It is anticipated that these assistances will further strengthen the existing friendly relations between Japan and Myanmar. .
