
1. On June 1, 2018, H.E. Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and H.E. U Set Aung, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Planning and Finance, exchanged notes concerning the grant aid for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship, worth 620 million Japanese Yen (approximately 5.6 million USD) in Nay Pyi Taw.
2. This scholarship provides opportunity for up to 48 young Myanmar Government officials and young leaders from the private sector to obtain a Master’s Degree or a Doctoral Degree in Japan. The recipients of the scholarship are expected to develop their skillset to help address various development challenges faced in Myanmar, as well as to strengthen mutual understanding and friendship between Japan and Myanmar.
