Exchange of Notes on Grant Aid to Myanmar “the Project for Water Supply in Southern Yangon”

1. On October 3, 2018, H.E. Mr. Ichiro MARUYAMA, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, and H.E. U Set Aung, Deputy Minister for Ministry of Planning and Finance, exchanged notes concerning the grant aid for the Project for Water Supply in Southern Yangon, worth 4,176 million Japanese Yen (approximately 36.6 million USD) in Nay Pyi Taw.

2. This project aims to distribute hygienically processed water and enable people to purchase drinking water at a lower price in Southern Yangon through installation and operation of the sound water supply system in Dala Township, Yangon. This project is expected to contribute to strengthen the water and sanitation sector, which is essential for the achievement of sustainable development as well as the Universal Health Coverage in Myanmar.
