
Medical equipment, which had been procured under the grant aid worth 2 billion Japanese Yen (About 18.1 million USD) to prevent the spread of COVID-19, was handed over to the Government of Myanmar on 22 December 2020.
Mr. TAKIMI Kazuyuki, Counsellor of Embassy of Japan, handed over 10 sets of mobile X-ray machine, 100 sets of Syringe pump and 100 sets of Suction pump which had recently arrived in Yangon as the second batch, to Dr. Khin Thida Aye, Deputy Director of the Ministry of Health and Sports.
The Government of Japan is providing Medical equipment such as radiography system, intensive care unit beds and medical monitors etc., to hospitals and laboratories in Myanmar in order to support the Government of Myanmar’s efforts to control the spread of COVID-19. Japan will continue to hand over additional medical equipment procured under this project to the Government of Myanmar as soon as its arrival in Yangon.
The Government of Japan will continue to proactively provide assistance not only in the COVID-19 response measures but in all areas for nation building and for the people of Myanmar.
