
Border control measures update (Staying at a designated facility after the entry into Japan from Myanmar will no longer be requested from 30 September) (2021.9.27)

On September 17, Myanmar was designated by the Japanese Government as one of “designated countries / regions in response to COVID-19 variants of special treatment on border measures and others". On September 27, this designation is lifted, and as a result, starting from 0 AM on 30 September, all cross-border travelers and returnees to Japan from Myanmar will no longer be requested to stay at designated facilities upon entering Japan.
They are still required to stay at places such as their own residence or accommodation for 14 days after the entry into Japan and will also be required not to use any means of public transport during this period.
