On June16, 2026, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Mr. Yoshitake Shogo, during his visit to Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture, made a courtesy call on Mr. Kiyomoto Hideyasu, Mayor of Himeji City.

- At the outset, Chargé d'Affaires ad interim Mr. Yoshitake briefly explained the situation in Myanmar.
- In response, Mayor Kiyomoto introduced an overview of Himeji City. The two sides held discussions on promoting friendship between the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Himeji City through future exchanges.
