Calling Entries for JENESYS2026 “ASEAN - Japan Sports (RUGBY) x SDGs Exchange for Youths”

JENESYS 2026 RUGBY

     The Embassy of Japan in Myanmar is currently calling 6 participants for JENESYS2026 “ASEAN-Japan Sports (RUGBY) x SDGs Exchange for Youths”. High school students who are interested in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Rugby are welcomed to apply. (※Those who do not have Rugby experience can also apply.)
     You will learn and deepen your knowledge about the understanding of SDGs by experiencing Rugby or theme-related events. It will be a great experience interacting with young people from the ASEAN region.
    * JENESYS (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) Program is an exchange program for the youths to observe various topics between Japan and countries in the Asia-Pacific region.

※Depending on the flight conditions, there is a possibility of overnight stay before or after the tour.
※Participants are required to participate Online Pre-Exchange Program on 20 October 2026 (Tuesday).

■ Qualifications for participants
(1) Applicants must be of Myanmar nationality and live in Myanmar.
(2) Applicants must be 15 – 18 years old high school students.
(3) Those who have participated in JENESYS program or the following programs funded by the Japanese government are ineligible.

✓KIZUNA
✓ SSEAYP (Ship for Southeast Asian and Japanese Youth Program)
✓ Sakura Science Exchange Program
✓ JICA (Except the program hold in AMS countries and Timor-Leste)
✓ Japanese Government (Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT))Scholarship Program
✓ Minister of Economy Trade and Industry of Japan (METI) Government Internship Program
✓ Invitation Program of JF (Japan Foundation), JNTO (Japan National Tourism Organization)  or AOTS ( Association for Overseas Technical Cooperation and Sustainable Partnerships).
(4) Applicants who have studied in Japan for a long term are not eligible.
(5) The applicant is desirable to have adequate English conversation skills to communicate with staff in English, such as during school exchange program and in case of emergency.
(6) The applicant should be physically capable of keeping up with a busy program schedule (includes playing football) requiring extensive walking each day.
(7) The applicant must have a sufficient internet condition to have access to the online pre-exchange program.
(8) Applicants need to bring mobile phone and PC to Japan.
(9) Passport (PV Type) must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of return to Myanmar.
(10) Applicants should be highly interested in Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and sports.
