Important Notice Regarding Plant and Animal Quarantine during the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and the Asian Para Games

　To prevent the spread of plant diseases and pests, as well as contagious diseases that may affect livestock, Japan strictly restricts the import of fruits, vegetables, and meat and meat products from overseas.
 
　Even if items are not prohibited, a Phytosanitary Certificate is required to import fresh fruits, vegetables, grains, legumes, and similar items.
 
　The importation of meat and meat products is strictly prohibited.
 
　These regulations apply without exception, regardless of whether the items are in-flight meals or souvenirs, and regardless of the quantity.
 
　Please note that violations of these regulations may result in imprisonment for up to 3 years or a fine of up to 3 million yen (up to 50 million yen for juridical person).
