FY2026 Japan Self-Defense Forces Day Reception

October 22, the Embassy of Japan held a reception to commemorate Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) Day.
Mr. YOSHITAKE Shogo, Chargé d’affaires ad interim of the Embassy of Japan, stated that the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), celebrating their 72nd anniversary, have earned the trust of the Japanese people through actions rather than words. He referred to the JSDF's response to last year's earthquake in Myanmar and its activities in new domains, such as cognitive warfare, stressing that the JSDF will continue to contribute to the peace and stability of the international community.
The event featured a video message from Japanese Defense Minister Mr. KOIZUMI Shinjiro, as well as performances of the national anthems of Japan and Myanmar by the JSDF Band.
A total of 236 guests attended the occasion, which included booth exhibitions by Japanese companies and organizations alongside Japanese cuisine prepared by Chef Mr. KUSABA of the Ambassador's Residence.
